The Constitutional court operates successfully and justice’s of the peace courts smoothly entered the judicial system. Our republic was one of the first in the country that founded human rights commissioner institution. A great significance in our republic is given to the constructive collaboration of power and society.

A multi-party system gradually comes into our life. In our republic over 2600 public organizations, 30 regional departments of all-Russian political parties, are registered. The party «United Russia» has majority in parliament of the republic and in the representative bodies of local self-government.

A culture of political activity, democratic elections, and referendums is forming. Unlike many other regions, in Bashkortostan some well recommended themselves organizations of the soviet period began to work in a new way, such as, for example, the largest from them — trade unions, and also the «Znanie» society and several others.

Bashkortostan — is one of the most multinational and multi religious regions of Russia. The republic is characterized with high social and political stability. Every kind support of original cultures and languages, strengthening of friendship and fraternity of people are priority tasks of the public policy.

Toleration, respect to the representatives of traditional religions formed in Bashkortostan through the ages. It is sharply defined in the Constitution of the country, that Russia is a secular state. But power bodies and religious organizations co-operate in saving spiritual and moral traditions of people of our republic, in counteraction to social vices.

The leadership of Bashkortostan in the course of reforms found optimum methods, guiding lines in all spheres of life, with care saving all the best from the previous decades. Here we did not rush forward rejecting symbols and achievements of the past, renaming or wrecking monuments. Not expecting for an outside help and relying mainly on its own forces, for short time the republic managed to pass from tactic of survival to strategy of growth. It’s economic potential was applied to soften the crisis and to speed-up development of social sphere.
